It’s been a while since I filled you in on my ongoing StitchFix obsession. I’ve been distracted lately. Planning a wedding will do that to you, I guess.
This is a long overdue post, as I got this Fix back in August! I know, I know! Please forgive me!
For this shipment, I specifically asked for clothes that would be cute for my bachelorette weekend (that post is coming up next week!), which was to be wine tasting and Hearst Castle visiting. Here’s what I got:
I tried to get a decent pic of me wearing this shirt, but the light was all wonky and it just looked black. Sadness. I really like this shirt! The color and the chevron print are awesome, and I like the tab sleeves. The only thing I don’t love is that the back hangs down over my butt and doesn’t really fit. It sort of gathers at my waist a bit. Curvy-girl problem, for sure.
I wanted to love this one, until I realized it had buttons down the front and a pocket. I hate both those details, and I’ve told StitchFix this before. But, that was a different stylist, so maybe they didn’t pass along the message? Who knows. The color and the fabric were to die for, but the fit was too big, and then the buttons and the pocket were a huge no.
Oh, lord. What to say about this one. I almost didn’t post this, but, ya know, honesty and all that. So, I asked for a maxi dress. They sent me the single most unflattering maxi dress I could have ever imagined. It’s just…no. In my feedback form when I checked out online, I wrote, “Chubby girls don’t wear horizontal stripes across their butt. Or their hips.”
I have a sneaky suspicion my clothes are being chosen by someone who is 6 feet tall and a size 2. I’m just sayin’.
Ok, this one I loved. The first pic makes it look VERY pink. In reality, it is more like the second photo. It’s just so pretty, and very unique! And, it fits well. It’s totally sheer except for the middle panel, so I paired it with a beige tank underneath. It’s just lovely. StitchFix hit this one out of the park! Woo Hoo!
Last, but not least, my jewelery pick:
Cute, but I have something similar. So, I didn’t keep them.
In case you’re curious about pricing, here’s my spec sheet for this go around:
So, what did I keep? I kept the crochet detail top, and the blue chevron top! In both cases, I would not have selected those for myself in a store, so I am glad StitchFix picked them for me!
It’s still super fun and exciting to get the box delivery and see what surprises they have in store. I am hoping as I continue to get back into shape (and they hopefully add a plus size line) I will find better fitting items in my Fixes.
What do you guys think? Did I keep the right stuff?
I have another box scheduled right before the wedding – hoping to find some cool fall clothes to wear while we’re in Philly!
